sparks! PSAs win national video award

A series of Public Service Announcements designed to help parents recognize opportunities to stimulate learning in their young children recently received an AMCP Award of Excellence from Videographer Awards. The PSAs, which promote the sparks! learning initiative of the Early Childhood Collaborative of La Crosse County, were developed and produced by Vendi Advertising of La Crosse.

Paired with the tagline “Every moment is a learning moment,” the sparks! program reminds parents and other adults of the importance of brain development in young children and suggests ways to “spark” learning in everyday situations. The spots featured children from the area and children also did all the voiceovers. The videos were part of an overarching brand identity project executed by Vendi that included developing the name, logo, illustrations and website for the initiative.

Mary Kay Wolf, executive director of Great Rivers United Way, one of the organizations involved in the project, commented, “The sparks! messaging is getting out to the community because Vendi knows how to talk to the community. This is well-deserved acknowledgment.”

“We’re very excited to be a part of this effort,” said Vendi videographer Kevin Cram. “To help promote early childhood learning, and to receive an award for the work, is extremely rewarding and, not to mention, one of the most enjoyable projects we’ve worked on."

Since 1994, Videographer Awards has recognized excellence in projects that are written, produced, shot and edited in an exceptional manner. It identifies and recognizes artisans who excel in their particular area. Approximately 1,600 entries are judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

Our stream of consciousness

Structuring & writing content for AI

Retrieval is like securing a job interview. It gets your content in the room, but it doesn’t guarantee selection. Structure is what determines whether your content gets “the job,” that is, whether it’s deemed “useful” enough to be included in a response.

Optimizing content for AI retrieval

Most content never makes it into an AI-generated answer. Not because it’s bad, but because it’s never found in the first place. Before an AI system can use your content in a response, it must retrieve it. If you don’t win the retrieval battle, your content never even makes it onto the field.

Why AEO matters

After years of research, debate, experimentation, pilot projects and global hype, generative AI platforms like Google Search, Claude, Perplexity and ChatGPT are now transforming how people find information online.
